Come Worship With Us!

Everyone is Invited

Liturgy

Our worship together is a primary way we offer thanks to God, express our unity, and seek reconciliation with God and one another. Our prayers and liturgy are shaped by The Book of Common Prayer, creating services that are beautiful and engaging. Worship services include readings from the Holy Scriptures, prayers, sermon and Holy Communion which we call the Holy Eucharist. Prayers for healing are also offered at each service. All are welcome to receive the sacraments of the Church.

Music

Epiphany’s choir enriches the sense of community through shared music from a wide variety of musical sources including the 1982 Hymnal and the Lift Every Voice and Sing: An African American Hymnal. Dr. Mark Hardy is the Director of Choral activities at the nationally acclaimed Baltimore School for the Arts. He holds a B.M. in Composition from the University of Lowell, and Masters and Doctoral degrees in choral conducting from Indiana University. He also remains active as a composer of choral, chamber, and orchestral music. His music is published by Cantante Press.

Pilgrimages

Every few years a group of members go on a pilgrimage together for a week. Travel has included Canterbury Cathedral (England), Church for the Fellowship of All People (San Francisco, CA),  and The Taize Community (France). Youth are encouraged to participate.

History

At the time of the Reformation in the 1500’s a distinctive form of faith and worship emerged focused on the study of scripture and the power of grace while maintaining the traditional sacraments of the centuries-old Catholic Church. The Episcopal Church is a world-wide church that in many parts of the world is known as the Anglican Church. Epiphany is one of 110 congregations in the Diocese of Maryland.
